Below is some great information he has found about the timetable of events leading up to the general election
www.parliament.uk/about/how/elections-and-voting/general/general-election-timetable-2015/
"Parliament will now be dissolved 25 days before the general election on 7 May 2015, instead of 17 days. According to this timetable, Parliament will be dissolved on Monday 30 March 2015." Electoral Commission pages: www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/candidate-or-agent/uk-parliamentary-general-election-great-britain Parliament page: www.parliament.uk/business/publications/research/briefing-papers/SN06574/timetable-for-the-uk-parliamentary-general-election pdf: www.parliament.uk/briefing-papers/SN06574.pdf From this page it sounds like the date/time for nominations to be returned is 4pm on Thursday 9th April, and publication of statement of persons nominated is 4pm on Friday 10th April: www.bedford.gov.uk/council_and_democracy/elections/elections_-_general_info/elections_2015/2015_election_timetable.aspx So Parliament will be dissolved in 63 days, nominations have to be returned in 73 days, and the election is in 101 days. |
