  1. Although my husband and I voted for Tom Sharratt this 2013 council election time as we thought he had been a good-serving councillor representative for our South Ribble Rural East Ward in the past, he does seem to have rested on his past laurels on that front as we didn't hear one campaigning word from him in the run-up to today's final votes being counted for the four named candidates for this ward. Don't know why he couldn't have at least arranged for a leaflet to have been posted through people's letter-boxes letting people know what he was going to do for them if they voted for him to keep his Idle Toad seat this time round. Saying that we received no leaflets through our door from the Labour candidate or the Liberal Democrat one either. Only got one from Barrie Yates (Conservative)but then again the Tories always seem to have plenty of money to spend on glossy electioneering leaflets no matter what type of election it's for. The moral to this tale being that Tom can no longer rely on people remembering what he did for them in his heyday of printing and having the popular and informative Idle Toad newspaper delivered through people's letter-boxes in this area. Shame about that but there you are as he has lost his seat through it.
