7 down how many to go for Eastleigh by election.

We so far have seven declared candidates

The Liberal Democrats have chosen local councillor Mike Thornton as their candidate to stand in the forthcoming Eastleigh by-election.

The Conservatives have announced their candidate for the Eastleigh by-election will be Maria Hutchings, who finished second behind Chris Huhne in the 2010 general election.

The National Health Action Party has endorsed a local doctor, public health expert and former navy medical officer Dr Iain Maclennan as their candidate to contest the Eastleigh by-election.

But Labour are still to announce and they better get their skates on as they only have till 4pm Wednesday to nominate.

But this minor party have said they are not likely to stand.

The leader of an emerging political party, Andrew Stott of the United Peoples Party,  has indicated that they are unlikely to field a candidate in Eastleigh. Click here for full article

Lets see how many hats can be fitted into the ring.
