WHY THERE WAS NO GREEN CANDIDATE IN EASTLEIGH

Deems a bit of a mix up that the party had picked a candidate then decided not to run. Why? was it because they didn't want to0 waste the money. They do say they are saving their efforts for the council elections but they do not have a full slate for those elections.

THE Green Party has decided not to put forward a candidate for the by-election. A spokeswoman confirmed a Green Party representative will not be added to the candidates list.
She said: “We have decided instead to concentrate on the upcoming county council elections, which we will be contesting strongly.”
The decision not to run for the seat appears to have been taken relatively late, after the National Health Action party candidate Iain Maclennan revealed he was originally selected as a candidate for the Green Party only to be told they had decided not to run.
