Latest UK General Election 2015 betting odds

BOOKMAKERS William Hill are offering odds of 8/1 for the rate of VAT to be raised during the lifetime of the next Government, and 1/20 that it will not be.However, they are only offering 2/1 that National Insurance will increase. 'These are two contentious matters and there is considerable speculation that one or the other, or even both, could rise during the lifetime of the next government' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WITH THE SNP likely to win a record number of seats at the General Election, William Hill have cut their odds for a second Independence Referendum to take place before 2020 from 4/1 to 7/2, and before 2024 from 6/4 to 5/4. And they are now quoting odds of 5/1 that Scotland will vote in favour of Independence before 2025. 'The anticipated SNP success is likely to create a demand for another Independence Referendum, and we have seen support for that to happen' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
