Ynys Mon Welsh Assembly by election

The former leader of Plaid Cymru, Ieuan Wyn Jones, has confirmed he is to stand down from his Ynys Mon seat, triggering a by-election.

Only the second time Plaid have needed to defend a seat, the other being Ceredigion in Feb 2000. Only the third Assembly by-election after Swansea East in 2000 and Bleanua Gwent in 2006
