6/1 for UKIP is very poor odds as Newark will not be a happy hunting ground for them.It is not an area that will be happy with them as it does not have the immigrant issue and that is what UKIP rely on.
ReplyDeleteHowever, the odds on Labour are very attractive as they will be the main beneficiary if a by election is held
Considering UKIP are taking 25% of the old Tory vote that might be the reason for the figure. South Shields & Eastleigh was not fought on a immigration problem and they did very well. I agree if labour get their act together 10/1 might be good but then again the area is not over keen on Labour even in 1997 Labour would not have won.
DeleteI agree up to a point but you must remember that Ted Bishop was the Labour MP for quite a while although the constituency has changed a bit but Labour must have a good chance
DeleteWell, at some point the sword provided for Mr Mercer has to be fallen on. Then again he might have to be dangled over it and dropped. For a fee of course.......
