The William Hill customer who placed a world record political bet of
£900,000 on the outcome of the Scottish Referendum, winning £193,333.33,
and has now followed up by staking the largest General Election bet
ever recorded, of £200,000 on a Hung Parliament at odds of 2/9 (standing
to make a profit of £44,444), has hinted that he may venture into
politics himself.
'Although our client has chosen to remain anonymous at the moment, he
has what he calls 'some very specific views on the fortunes of
individual Parties'' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, adding that
'he is 'personally disappointed by the lack of quality debate and policy
prescriptions and may take up that chalice personally.''
The client is a middle-aged man, based in South West London.
