POLITICAL ODDS UPDATE.........
Bookmakers William Hill believe David Cameron WILL take part in one or
more multi-Party (4 or more parties participating) General Election tv
debates. Despite the fact that he did not commit himself when asked
during Prime Minister's Question Time, Hills offer 3/10 (stake £10 to
win £3) that he WILL participate in such a debate; and 12/5 (stake £5 to
win £12) that he will fail to do so.
'Mr Cameron is yet to confirm that he will be part of a multi-Party tv
debate, but the threat by the broadcasters to 'empty-chair' him if he
does not will probably result in him taking part in the end - our
political punters certainly believe it will' said Hill's spokesman
Graham Sharpe.
IF THERE'S AN EU REFERENDUM, WHO'LL WIN?
With a YouGov poll suggesting some 45% of potential voters in an in/out
EU Referendum would be inclined to vote to remain in, William Hill have
cut the odds for that outcome from 4/7 to 1/2, and lengthened the odds
for a 'Quit' result from 5/4 to 6/4. Hills are offering 1/2 that there
will NOT be such a Referendum before 2019; and 6/4 that there WILL be
one.
'Whether there will actually be an in/out EU Referendum and what the
result of it would be, still divides political opinion, but our betting
suggests that an EU Referendum before 2019 is far from guaranteed.' said
Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
RIFKIND SEAT SURE TO STAY TORY - BUT BY WHAT MAJORITY?
William Hill make the Conservatives overwhelming favourites at 1/100
stake £100, to win £1) to retain Malcolm Rifkind's Kensignton
constituency- but whether they will do so with an increased majority is
another matter - and Hills are 7/2 (stake £2 to win £7) that they will
win by over 8616 votes, and 1/6 to do so with that number or fewer.
GREEN NATALIE 9/2 TO QUIT FOLLOWING ‘CAR CRASH’ INTERVIEW
FOLLOWING her embarrassing interview with LBC’s Nick Ferrari, Natalie
Bennett, leader of the Green Party is quoted at 9/2 by William Hill to
stand down from that position before the General Election, and 1/8 to
remain in situ.
Ms Bennett is quoted at 28/1 to win the Holborn & St Pancras constituency where she is standing for election.
WILLIAM HILL OFFER 6/4 THAT THE GREENS WILL WIN NO SEATS AT ALL AT THE
GENERAL ELECTION; 10/11 JUST ONE; 4/1 TWO OR MORE.
GENERAL ELECTION OUTCOME...1/5 Hung Parliament; 4/1 Con-LD Coalition;
9/2 Coalition involving SNP; 9/2 Con minority govt; 5/1 Labour minority
govt; 11/2 Con majority; 11/2 Lab-LD coalition; 7/1 Coalition involving
Ukip; 9/1 Lab majority; 20/1 Coalition involving Greens; 33/1 Con-Lab
coalition; 50/1 Ukip majority; 500/1 Lib Dem majority.
TO BE LARGEST SINGLE PARTY....8/13 Conservatives; 5/4 Labour; 33/1 Ukip; 400/1 Lib Dems.
